The authors begin by examining the inherent links between business value, business models, and corporate strategy. They show how IT has progressively influenced our perceptions of value by impacting the practice of management, and propose the Value Matrix ™ as a guide to determining how to best deploy talent, organization, and technology to produce value in a company and a market.
Building on these foundations, they then turn their attention to how current management practice often neglects the goal of business value. As the prescriptions for optimising organizations and technology have reached their limits, they argue, a radically different approach based on effectiveness and business value offers a promising alternative.
Lee Schlenker and Alan Matcham have devised the Business Value Matrix™ , a unique tool that will help you focus on factors other than time and money, on the quality of interaction rather than the quantity of transactions, and on human motivation and innovation as the primary source of sustainable competitive advantage.
Drawing on the authors’ own experiences of business success and failure, The Effective Organization provides inspiration and guidance for everyone searching for the means to add measurable value to both their career and their organization.
"I believe this book represents an important milestone in our understanding of how business value is evolving and addresses the challenge of business value whilst delivering tested strategies to build a more effective business organization."
—Sergio Giacoletto, Executive Vice President, Oracle EMEA
