Typing Made Simple
NATHAN LEVINE
advisory editor MARGARET DAVIS
Typing Made Simple is equally useful for self-study and for classroom use in part-time day and evening courses. It is also designed as an excellent introductory course for anyone working up to specific typing examinations such as those set by the Royal Society of Arts. Each chapter is a complete lesson and beginners will be surprised at the speed with which they will be able to master the skill of typewriting. There are 19 supplementary chapters at the end of the book and these form a most useful and comprehensive reference section.

Foreword
Today the typewriter is indispensable as a means of communication, both in business and in private life. This book has been planned especially for the beginner, using as simple an approach as is com-patible with the achievement of a good standard. The exercises are so graduated that any student who attains a reasonable degree of accuracy in each of them before proceeding to the next will have no difficulty in becoming a proficient typist. Learning is systematic and progressive because each lesson allows for refreshing the student's memory of the previous lesson before introducing new topics.
Two charts of the typewriter keyboard are printed at the beginning of the book. One should be cut out and placed upright beside the type-writer during most of the course-until the keyboard is thoroughly memorized; the other copy can be kept as a spare.
Although Typing Made Simple is designed primarily for self-study, it can be used with advantage by the teacher in the classroom. It can also serve as an excellent introductory course for anyone working up to specific typing examinations, such as those set by the Royal Society of Arts. Indeed, with the method used in this book, beginners will be surprised at the speed and facility with which they will be able to master the skill of typewriting.
